Greenville, South Carolina – June 2026

We have old friends living in South Carolina on Lake Keowee in a beautiful community known as The Reserve. We have visited them a few times when on the East Coast and been impressed with the natural beauty of this area and its surroundings both the Carolinas. With our friends we have taken hikes in local state parks and also visited gorgeous Dupont Forest in North Carolina. On this trip we visited nearby Greenville and walked the Swamp trail along the Reedy River that runs through the city. Spectacular Upper Reedy Falls is situated right in the center of the town. Greenville is quite attractive with a well-preserved and attractive downtown area. Lake Keowee is a huge reservoir, more than 25 miles long and is a boating and fishing mecca. The soil is a red-orange color and the combination of blue water, red-orange shoreline, and green surrounding forests makes for great scenery.

In this gallery I’ve included shots from our recent trip, as well as a few from past visits that included the Dupont Reserve, the Botanical Gardens at Clemson University, and nearby Lake Jocassee. Like us, if you’ve never visited this part of the country, you might be surprised at how beautiful it is.
